Tenold is committed to minimizing negative impact on the environmental through the use of leading technologies, educated choices, and innovative thinking. We seek to create a culture of environmental stewardship by planting seeds of knowledge and caring within the Tenold family. We will demonstrate through our choices and actions that environmental prosperity and our own prosperity are found on the same path. These same choices produce sound and profitable business decisions.
“Whether we are entrusted to ship, warehouse or distribute freight, you can rest assured that the job will be completed by a team of dedicated men and women who truly care about the work they do and the people whom they serve.
Everything we do is without compromise to safety and with consideration to the environment around us.”
Tenold Transportation has been operating since 1968. At that time, Gar Campbell operated with one truck under the name of A&W Trucking Ltd (“A&W”) hauling cable for a number of customers. Several of those original customers represent Tenold’s largest customers today.
In the 1970’s, A&W expanded its fleet of trucks and drivers becoming a regional carrier in British Columbia and Alberta. As the transportation industry in Canada and the US became deregulated, Tenold has experienced a number of milestones in its history:
|Commencement of reel assembly functions in Surrey BC terminal
|Established terminals in Brampton ON and St Jean Sur Richelieu QC to better service customers in Ontario and Quebec
|Commencement of intermodal business
|Sale of Tenold to Mullen Group
|Relocation of terminals in Edmonton AB, Winnipeg MB, and Brampton ON to larger facilities to better meet customer needs
|First overseas shipment
|Commencement of cable cutting functions in Edmonton AB terminal
|Became SmartWay Environmental Partner
|Became only the second carrier to qualify for BC COR designation
|Commencement of shipping cable commodities on Rail Flatcar equipment
|Opened brand new terminal/warehouse in Johnstown, ON
|Partnered with Mullen sister company to provide freight service from Mexico
|Provided our first external warehousing solution to one of our largest utility partners
|Established Alberta regional fleet based out of Edmonton to service local customer’s needs.
|Transportation coordination of 9 different utility projects from smaller wind farm initiatives to major infrastructure upgrades.
|Established Eastern regional fleet based out of Brampton & Johnstown, ON to service Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes and Eastern USA customer base.
